Killybegs, (in Irish, Na Cealla Beaga, which means “The Little Cells’ such as were built for monks) is situated partly in the barony of Botlagh. A busy fishing port, with a fine sheltered harbor on a small inlet of Donegal Bay. The Bay provides the town with the bulk of its industry.
